(It should come as no surprise that this particular herb shares a name with the ultra-speedy, late Brazilian race car driver Ayrton Senna, widely regarded as the greatest Formula One driver of all time.) A genus of flowering plants in the Fabaceae family, Senna gets its name from the Arabic word sana. For centuries, the herb has been used by traditional medicinal practitioners to ease issues with the bowel. Brewed on its own, Senna tea, while slightly sweet, often exhibits strong undertones of bitterness, which is not ideal for those situations where your stomach is already feeling a little out-of-sorts. That's why we've added the herb to a robust, fruit-forward blend of dried fruits, flowers and all-natural flavoring oils.
